Our professionally trained dispensing personnel are able to offer lens products to enhance and improve the optical and cosmetic performance even in the case of more complex prescriptions. When dispensing high powered or unusual prescriptions we will only select lenses we would be happy to wear ourselves.
Zeiss, Seiko, Essilor, Nikon, Rodenstock, Hoya, Pentax, Marinelli and Sola supply our branded products. These manufacturers are able to take instructions from our calculations to ensure the thinnest, flattest, clearest and most appealing lenses to complement your frame choice. The lenses are made from a variety of different plastics and glass ensuring optimum cosmetic and visual performance. At OPTIX we recommend proprietary anti-reflection coatings (including scratch resistant and easy clean layers on plastics lenses) on all the lenses we dispense. These coatings reduce reflective glare, especially noticeable in artificial light and night driving, which causes eye fatigue and visual discomfort. It also reduces unsightly reflections and allows your eyes to be seen more clearly, greatly enhancing the cosmetic appearance of your chosen eyewear.
OPTIX has been awarded Essilor’s Varilux Gold Specialist accreditation, achieved as a result of our understanding and appreciation of progressive lens technology. We are committed to fitting the finest products available for the benefit of our customers’ visual comfort. Not all progressive addition lenses (PAL / Varifocals) are alike. It is essential that the product be chosen for the purpose for which it is intended, and then carefully fitted to ensure the dynamics of the lenses are fully utilised.
Tinted lenses, including to prescription, are available in fashionable, light-adapting (photochromic) tints, with or without the latest soft mirror effect. Polarising tinted lenses for driving and use on water and snow are designed to reduce surface glare, thus aiding visual comfort in bright and varying light conditions. The very latest lens technology now incorporates both photochromic and polarising, therefore giving the best of both worlds. A visit to OPTIX for a demonstration never fails the “wow box” test!
